Audrey Vanderstoop, Registered Holistic Nutritionist , Personal Trainer Specialist and Lifestyle Educator, has worked in the field of weight management and nutrition for over twenty-five years. Audrey has been voted Best Nutritionist by the Burlington Post Readers Choice Awards, fourteen years in a row, 1998-2012.
Audrey began her career in Toronto in 1987 under the mentorship of author, educator and clinical nutritionist, the late Carola Barczak, a highly respected pioneer in the field of nutrition. Over the span of her career she has had the opportunity to train with other masters in the field of nutrition such as David Rowland, PhD, founder of the Edison Intstitute of Nutrition, and Dr. Kristi Hughes, ND, Associate Director of Medical Education at the Institute for Functional Medicine. In 1996, Audrey became a proud member of the International Organization of Nutritional Consultants (IONC) as well as a Certified Live Blood Microscopist. An RNCP designation indicates that Audrey has met all the educational and ethical standards required of professional members of IONC. It assures the public, that as an RNCP, she is conducting a professional practice and meeting yearly upgrading standards.
In the spring of 2010 Audrey received her certification as a Personal Trainer and by the end of the year was a Certified FirstLine Therapist and Lifestyle Educator. Presently certified as a Zumba Fitness and Aqua Zumba Instructor, Audrey will obtain her group fitness instructor certification by December of this year.
A strong believer in giving back to the community, Audrey has donated time and money to the Police Association, the Fire Fighters Fund, the Food Bank, The Cancer Society, The Canadian Diabetes Association, the MS Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Rick Hansen's Wheels In Motion, Joseph Brant Hospital and many local fundraisers focusing on education and community programs.
She has made appearances on Cityline, City Live at 5, Breakfast Television and Flare TV. She is a regular contributor to The Burlington Post's "Ask the Pro's" and "Healthy Lifestyles". She has acted as a small business consultant and mentored newly designated RNCPs. She continues to conduct training seminars and workshops in health and wellness, customer service and retail sales.
